  1. Briefly describe the activity you delivered in your classroom, including the ages of children/young people (200 words maximum):

LABC was invited by teachers from Istituto Comprensino n.7 Fontana-Formentini from La Spezia for a workshop as a cascade-event meeting of the i-Can project.

The workshop was followed by 10 teachers of various issues, such as Foreign Language (English, French, Spanish), Natural Science, Geography, Civic Education.

They were all very interested, and will approach the climate change with all related issues as it is mandatory subject for teachers to debate with students.

The teachers received a training on I-CAN products and available ressources that will be then used in teachers classes, cadcading it to a number of over 250 students ageing between 12 and 16.

  1. How did the activity addressed climate change? (200 words maximum):

The workshop began with a suggestive quote, which we share with all the teachers:

"The legitimate fight against climate change has achieved that status of a noble cause that no one can question anymore, or almost no one. Climate change is now like cancer: who will ever say they are for it? Who will ever say that Is it good that the earth is deteriorating? I have always distrusted those indisputable causes, which leave no room for disagreement. They are, they used to be, the way some sectors that have power make others believe that their problems are also them; they are, they used to be, the grossest and most efficient traps."

To avoid ending up in a generational conflict, or worse, being viewed as discredited adults, it's important to acknowledge the truth of students who will own a future over which they have very little say. Giving them a voice means discussing what changes are needed, that, as we all know, changes are continuous and constant.

  1. What was a success? (You can share small stories, if you like) What was the impact on the pupils/school? (200 words maximum):

Participating teachers were enthusiastic and will transfer the I-CAN produced materials to their students

  1. Any other comments:
